  Korea House Restaurant was born nearly 30 years ago when its owner Pok and her deceased husband decided to call Austin their home after the long journey from South Korea.¬†

The complexity of authentic Korean food requires many steps of preparation and careful cooking. Even thought there could be short cuts to make things simple and easy. However, stubborn and too proud, the Kims refused to compromise and decided to cook and serve authentic Korean food. And they have been doing it for nearly 30 years since.

Grandma Pok now runs the restaurant with her son and daughter-in-law who finished her culinary school early this year. While times have changed as well as many things in Austin, Pok still insists on doing what she has been doing since the opening: treating customers like family and feeding them  as family.
